Its been a while since we did any work on the RD's but Rick has been busy finding all the best bits and putting them together in a newly coated RD400 C frame. He has restored wheels and most of the cycle parts, pinched all my plating and powder coated parts from my stash and its looking great. The following 3 pics are the latest to give you an Idea of the progress.

Just before Christmas I got bored for a day so stripped a couple of my RD's ready for restoring. Frames were checked over for damaged threads ETC and sent for blasting and powder coating, along with any other black bits. I cleaned up all the nuts and bolts and sent them in for plating. I have now started assembling the 2 frames, fitting new head bearings ,bushes etc as required. The first picture shows some of the steel fittings after bead blasting ready for the platers. The second picture shows the wheels after a couple of hours in the glass...

The bike has come together at last. It started on the 3rd push of the button and sounds great. I am still  mirrors missing and a small panel near the side stand, but I will buy new if I can't get them off the previous owner. This is the latest picture. I will give it a polish and put it in the shop tomorrow.    LATEST:  New panel and mirrors are now fitted and the bike is now for sale :)

Finished the wiring and Switched on  the ignition  The clocks show the bike has only done 2 miles!!!!!! Side stand, number plate holder, rear indicators, top fairing/headlamps and horn etc all fitted. Exhaust, petrol tank and get running is next.

The Harley is finally back together. Exhaust wrap looks great and the engine sounds superb. Some careful road testing and final checks and it's ready to go!
